Yoga + Therapy Class

NEW OFFERING at Lakes Counseling & Wellness Center
Yoga + Therapy with Rachel & Jen

We’re excited to introduce a monthly Yoga + Therapy class, held on the last Friday of each month, with each session centered around a different emotional wellness topic.

This Month’s Focus: ANGER Pt. 2 + SELF COMPASSION

What is Yoga + Therapy?
Yoga + Therapy blends intentional movement, breathwork, and traditional talk therapy into one integrated experience. Instead of working only with the mind or only with the body, we honor the connection between the two.

During this class, we’ll move through grounding, heart-opening, and stabilizing postures designed to help release stored tension and create space for emotional flow. Alongside the movement, our licensed therapist Rachel will guide a supportive conversation exploring:

How anger shows up in the body

Its impact on the nervous system

Healthy, sustainable ways to process and release it

How to show yourself some love and compassion

We’ll also integrate somatic techniques to help you reconnect with your body, calm your nervous system, and create a sense of internal safety.

This isn’t just yoga.
It isn’t just talk therapy.
It’s a powerful blend that recognizes anger lives in both the mind and the body—and true healing honors both.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Alysa Murphy LMHC IADC

As an Iowa Great Lakes Native, I am thrilled to be back in the area offering mental health counseling services. I bring a variety of experience with me, having worked in outpatient, inpatient, and school settings. Some areas I specialize in include: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use/addictions, family dynamics, life stages and transitions, and sport and performance psychology.

In my free time, you’ll often find me outside. Some activities I love include working in my garden, playing sports, boating, hiking, biking, and playing with my two sons, husband, and dog.

For self-care, I make sure to find time each day for exercise and music.

I am looking forward to helping you grow and change with whatever life has handed you and to unlock your full potential. My hope is to assist you in living a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
