Emotional Release Yoga

Fridays @ 8:30 AM | Starting 11/7/25
Lakes Counseling Center

Slow down, tune in, and let go. This all-levels yoga class guides you through gentle, mindful movements to release tension and support emotional well-being.

Why Emotional Release Yoga?
Our bodies store emotions we may not even realize—stress, grief, and tension can show up as stiff hips, tight shoulders, shallow breathing, or fatigue. This practice gently unlocks stored emotions, helping you release what no longer serves you.

In this class, we explore:
Heart-opening asanas for emotional tension & vulnerability
Hip & pelvic asanas for deep-seated emotions
Neck & shoulder asanas to release stress & heaviness

Cost: $12 per class

Empowerment for Empaths

With Shamanic Practitioner, Lacey Boles
Saturday, 11/1/25 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Lakes Counseling Center

This intermediate class is for both new and returning students who want to deepen their understanding of personal power and learn spiritual practices to maintain homeostasis.  If you are an individual who is sensitive to energy, you have probably experienced symptoms of disempowerment connected to your gifts, such as:

• A natural tendency to feel the weight of the world and a responsibility to heal it

• An orientation to keep the peace and avoid conflict at all costs

• Falling into cycles of burnout, martyrdom, and exhaustion from interaction with toxic people, environments, and systems of thought

• Attracting needy, clingy, wounded individuals with unpacked trauma

• Difficulty speaking up for yourself or sharing your truth out of fear that it will hurt others

• Default to states of dissociation

• Physcial health dysfunction or disregulation due to energetic imbalances

In this class, we will practice how to:

• Develop and maintain effective boundaries

• Protect your personal energy field via grounding, centering, and sheilding

• Establish a quality connection to Source

• Dismantle disempowering belief systems surrounding the gifts of sensitivity

• Recognize and transmute energetic holding patterns rooted in survival mode

• Safely channel, integrate, and embody your Higher Self

Students are encouraged to bring a journal, yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and eye covering for the meditation portion.

Cost: $111

Special Workshop: Questions & Emotional Release Yoga

With Ruth & Jen
Saturday, 11/15/25 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Lakes Counseling Center

This two-part experience begins with an Emotional Release Yoga practice to ground and open the body, followed by a Questions Workshop.

  • The Questions Workshop (10AM-12PM) focuses on developing the kinds of mindful, guiding questions that help us move with life’s changes rather than resist them. Poorly formed questions can stagnate energy or even hold us back—this class provides tools to ask better questions and grow with clarity. This class will provide you with tools to explore your questions and help you respond to your profound need to grow.

  • The Emotional ReleaseYoga Class (9-10AM) - slow down, tune in, and let go. This all-levels yoga class guides you through gentle, mindful movements to release tension and support emotional well-being.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Alysa Murphy LMHC IADC

As an Iowa Great Lakes Native, I am thrilled to be back in the area offering mental health counseling services. I bring a variety of experience with me, having worked in outpatient, inpatient, and school settings. Some areas I specialize in include: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use/addictions, family dynamics, life stages and transitions, and sport and performance psychology.

In my free time, you’ll often find me outside. Some activities I love include working in my garden, playing sports, boating, hiking, biking, and playing with my two sons, husband, and dog.

For self-care, I make sure to find time each day for exercise and music.

I am looking forward to helping you grow and change with whatever life has handed you and to unlock your full potential. My hope is to assist you in living a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.

I am invested in my client’s growth and hope that they can leave feeling better then when they came.”

Rachel’s therapeutic approach is a non- judgmental, family centered approach. She is trained in Master’s level Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Lifespan Integration and uses aspects of CBT, DBT, EMDR and mindfulness therapy techniques.
